How WriteLeap turns writing into a practical next step

Your child writes. WriteLeap helps identify what matters most next, gives focused practice, then checks whether the skill transfers back into complete writing.

How does WriteLeap work?

WriteLeap starts with the student’s own writing rather than a generic worksheet. It identifies strengths and developing skills, selects a small number of priorities for focused practice, then asks the student to apply those skills in complete writing, respond to feedback and revise. Later work provides new evidence for what to practise next.

From first draft to stronger independent writing

1

Start with student writing

Your child completes a writing task in their own words so the next step is based on real writing evidence.

2

Build a writing profile

AI-assisted analysis highlights strengths and developing areas across ideas, organisation, language and writing control.

3

Choose 1–2 priority skills

Instead of correcting everything at once, the learning plan focuses on a small number of skills that can make the next piece of writing stronger.

Sentence control
4

Practise the skill directly

Short exercises isolate the priority skill so the student can understand and practise it without writing a full essay every time.

5

Apply it in complete writing

The student returns to a complete writing task and uses the skill in context, where it actually matters.

6

Receive focused feedback

Feedback highlights what worked and gives a manageable next revision target rather than an overwhelming list of corrections.

7

Student revises

The student decides how to improve the draft and applies the feedback to their own writing.

8

Use new evidence for the next plan

Later writing and practice update the skill picture so the next focus can change as the student develops.
